Diploma in Opthalmic Technology(DOT)

Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology grooms students to be ophthalmic technicians and plays an important role in patient care. The programme encompasses curriculum to equip students with methods to acquaint patients with eye care procedures they will undergo or experience while in an eye care center. Through hands-on vocational practice students understand procedures and master in patient management. Taking patient histories and updating medical fall into the job duties as well which are a vital part of the programme curriculum.

Ophthalmic Technicians assist eye care practitioner in their practice of ophthalmology, which focuses on primary eye problems. Ophthalmic technicians fulfill numerous functions, such as acquiring health histories from patients, explaining how to use contact lenses, maintaining equipment, measuring vision, performing diagnostic examinations and providing eye medication.
